Why we need donations
Volunteer firefighters put their lives and livelihoods at risk while protecting the community. Because most are unpaid volunteers with other jobs, a sudden injury, illness, or family crisis can create severe financial strain. Insurance often only covers part of the need—our relief fund fills the gaps. Building and maintaining reserves ensures we can respond immediately when emergencies arise.
A brief history
Established decades ago after community members recognized the need to support families after on-duty tragedies, the association has grown through local fundraising and donations. For over a century, volunteer firefighters have served South Kingstown. The relief association exists to back them when they need help.
Donate
All donations are made to SKFFRA and used for Association programs that benefit eligible volunteer firefighters (members serving in the Union and Kingston Fire Districts) and their immediate families. Contributions are tax-deductible; a receipt will be provided upon request. Your gift helps ensure volunteers get the practical support they need—now and in the future.
